Canon announced their new G-series Powershot flagship today with the G1 X Mark III, which now has their 24.3MP APS-C CMOS sensor, DIGIC 7 image processor and Canon's Dual Pixel CMOS autofocus. The larger sensor hasn't made the camera body any bigger, though. In fact, the dimensions are actually a bit slimmer than it's predecessor. Also new is the 24-72mm F2.8-5.6 lens with Optical Image Stabilization that's good for 4-stops. That along with the 100 - 25,600 ISO range should make the G1 X Mark III a capable low-light camera.
On the back is a 2.36m dot OLED electronic viewfinder as well as a 3.0-inch Vari-angle LCD touchscreen. Touch and Drag autofocus lets you use the touchscreen to adjust your focus points while looking through the EVF.
Burst mode shoots up to 7fps with autofocus tracking thanks to the Dual Pixel CMOS AF (or up to 9fps with fixed focus). Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth.
The Canon Powershot G1 X Mark III is expected in November 2017 with a retail price of $1599.00
