The latest of Fujifilm's popular instax lineup was announced as they unveiled the new instax Mini LiPlay Hybrid Camera. It is a mashup of the instax film camera and the instax film printer while appearing to be the most compact of either to date. We see the digital/film camera hybrid capabilities from the SQ20 but now combined with the ease of wireless connectivity like on the instax printers.
You can either take the pictures with the 28mm F2.0 (35mm format equivalent) and ~5.0MP sensor or print photos off your smartphone or tablet using Bluetooth with the Direct Print feature. The instax Mini LiPlay handles this direct print functionality as well as remote shooting with live view displayed on your phone.
Speaking of the app, the instax Mini LiPlay can record up to 10 seconds of sound which is printed on the photo in the form of a QR code and played when scanned with the app.
The camera comes with a rechargeable lithium ion battery that lasts around 100 prints per charge as well as a hand strap and a USB cable.
The instax Mini LiPlay launches on June 14th, 2019 with a estimated MSRP of $199.99 and comes in three colours: Elegant Black, Stone White and Blush Gold.
