Leica's new TL2, their latest TL-system camera features minimalist design and operation with many of the functions being controlled by the massive 3.7-inch touchscreen display on the back. The brand new 24MP APS-C CMOS sensor and Maestro II image processor in the TL2 improves upon it's predecessor's image quality and overall performance. ISO now goes to a maximum of 50,000, which makes for better low-light performance.
The body is a beautiful piece of contemporary design, machined from a single block of aluminum. The Leica L bayonet mount works with 6 current TL lenses (3 primes and 3 zooms) as well as Leica M- and R-mount lenses via an adapter.
There's now an electronic shutter to go with the mechanical one, capable of a 1/40,000s maximum shutter speed. The mechanical shutter can shoot up to 7fps in continuous mode while the electronic shutter goes to 20fps.
In terms of video, the TL2 shoots in 4K at 30fps and has a slow motion video mode (720p/120fps) as well.
The Leica TL2 is available soon in either a black or silver anodized finish with an MSRP of $2,560.00.
