Leica just released their first major update to their full-frame mirrorless SL-system with firmware version 2.0, which you can download HERE.
Three new features headline the changes in firmware 2.0:
- Direct Exposure Compensation – this allows selection of exposure compensation via the top and rear dials in P, T and A mode.
- Additional Shutter Speeds – there is a longer manual shutter speed up to 30 minutes and new electronic shutter speeds up to 1/16000 seconds.
- Improved Autofocus – this provides higher precision, improved tracking and new AF-steps in setup menu and improved 1-point AF, now with up to 529 AF-points.
There’s also a number of other improvements in this firmware version:
- It fully supports all Leica Flashes. The TTL/HSS mode is improved.
- DNG-only mode now with the ability to zoom into DNGs files during playback.
- Improved time code menu options.
- Improved power saving during long exposure and interval shots.
- Flash exposure compensation added to favorite list and to customized button options.
- List of M and R lenses can be customized.
- The image quality of JPEG files are improved.
- White balance is improved.
- JPEG files now have noise reduction options (low, medium, high).
- The first letter of file names can be changed.
- The Auto ISO setting is improved with a minimum ISO setting added.
- The Wi-Fi password is displayed during input.
- Focus peaking is improved with the option for sensitivity and the addition of a new icon during live view.
- Title of user profiles can contain up to 10 letters.
- Rating is now compatible with Adobe software.
- Histogram is transparent.
- AF-frame is shown in continuous low and medium speed.
- The video format and resolution are combined in one menu.
- Support is included for Lexar® Professional 1000x SDHCTM /SDXCTM UHS-II
- Bug fix for AF filed size: 1 point in magnified situations.
