Panasonic has announced two new LUMIX lenses, a 42.5mm (85mm equivalent) F1.7 portrait lens and a equally priced 30mm (60mm equivalent) F2.8 Macro lens.
The 42.5mm F1.7 ASPH with Power O.I.S. is a more budget-friendly version of the drool-inducing Panasonic Leica 42.5mm F1.2 DG Nocticron. Aimed squarely at portrait photographers with the 85mm equivalent focal length, F1.7 aperture and a minimum focusing distance of 0.31m, the lens also has power optical stabilization to smooth out motion blur. It’ll be available in black or silver finish with an estimated street price of $499.99 in Canada sometime in May.
The 30mm F2.8 ASPH MEGA O.I.S. let’s you take 1:1 close up macro shots as well as portraits with the 60mm equivalent focal length. Designed for sharp, high contrast, the 30mm F2.8 focuses as close as 0.105m for true-to-life macro photos.
It will also be available starting in May with a estimated street price of $449.99 in Canada.
