Here’s a few short news items that didn’t quite make it to their own posts this week:
- Adobe released Lightroom 6 and Lightroom CC with new features such as HDR merging, panorama stitching and a facial recognition mode. There are also a number of performance improvements and bug fixes in this release. DNG Converter V9.0 is also available with a number of new cameras supported, including the Canon 5DS/5DS R, Nikon D7200 and Panasonic GF7, amongst others.
- Sony has released a new app called Touchless Shutter that enables the camera to release the shutter when you hold your hand over the eye sensor. It works with a number of their cameras that have built-in or optional EVFs and eye sensors, including the A6000, RX100 MKIII and A7-series.
- A firmware update is available for the Nikon D4s which adds some new features and bug fixes such as unlimited continuous shooting (in shutter priority and manual modes) and unlimited exposure time, which was limited to 30 minutes before this update.
- Firmware version 2.2 is available for the Panasonic GH4, which adds optimization for recording with anamorphic lenses and also a 1/16000 second electronic shutter speed.
