Ricoh's latest Theta 360 spherical camera, the Theta V, ups the video resolution to Ultra HD 4K (3840x1920 at 56Mbps). That's 4K over an entire spherical area, or about a 3.5x increase in resolution over the 1920x1080 Full HD video in the Theta S. Video quality should also see an improvement with the bitrate increasing from a maximum of 16Mbps on the Theta S to 56Mbps on the Theta V.
Other improvements include a wider ISO range of 64 - 6400 (up from ISO 100 - 1600 on the Theta S) and a wider shutter speed range of 1/25000 to 1/8 seconds (from 1/6400 to 1/8s on the Theta S). Still photo resolution remains the same at approximately 12-megapixels (x2 since there are two lenses)
Internal memory has been bumped to approximately 19GB (from 8GB) to accommodate for the higher video resolution and bitrate.
The Ricoh Theta V is expected to arrive later in September and is available for pre-order at an MSRP of $549.99.
