Two new Sony APS-C E-mount lenses were announced along with the new a6600 and a6100 camera bodies.
The E 16-55mm F2.8 G is a compact standard zoom with a 35mm-format equivalent focal range of 24-82.5mm and a constant F2.8 aperture throughout. It features four aspherical elements, three extra-low dispersion elements and a 9-blade, rounded aperture.
Along with the E 70-350mm F4.5-6.3 G OSS, the E 16-55mm is one of the first Sony APS-C lenses to feature their XD (extreme dynamic) linear motor for quiet, fast and accurate autofocus.
The Sony E 16-55mm F2.8 G is expected to arrive in October 2019 with a MSRP of $1449.99.
Sony E 70-350mm F4.5-6.3 G OSS
The other new lens in Sony's lineup is the E 70-350mm F4.5-6.3 G OSS, a versatile telephoto zoom lens with built-in Optical SteadyShot image stabilization.
One aspherical element and three extra-low dispersion elements reduce aberrations and like the E 16-55mm F2.8, this lens also features Sony's XD linear motor for autofocus.
For a lens with a 35mm-format equivalent focal range that spans 105-525mm, the E 70-350mm weighs in at just 625g while being only 142mm in overall length.
The Sony E 70-350mm F4.5-6.3 G OSS is expected to arrive in stores in November with an MSRP of $999.99.

SAN DIEGO — August 28, 2019 — Sony Electronics today has announced two new APS-C zoom lenses in the G Lens™ series for their E-mount line-up, including the E 16-55mm F2.8 G standard zoom lens and the E 70-350mm F4.5-6.3 G OSS super-telephoto zoom lens. With this announcement, Sony’s versatile E-mount system now features a total of 54 lenses.
In addition to the new lenses, Sony has also introduced two new APS-C Mirrorless Cameras, the Alpha 6600 and Alpha 6100 models, further strengthening the company’s APS-C lineup.
