Voigtländer Portrait Heliar 75mm f/1.8 full-frame E-mount lens offers a spherical aberration control ring that provides under- or over-corrected spherical aberration for creative bokeh control.
When set to “under,” out-of-focus elements get much softer and rounder, and the overall image loses contrast and sharpness. On the other extreme end of the spectrum, when set to “over,” the lens is sharper and more contrasty. Turning the spherical aberration control ring has numerous other effects beyond changing the look of aberration.
The lens has fully manual focus and aperture control, but electronic contacts provide EXIF data and a manual focus assist. The optical design features 6 elements in 3 groups and a 9 blade circular diaphragm aperture for well-rounded out-of-focus areas.
