Canon Makes the G9 X Mark II Faster

Canon’s smallest 1.0-inch sensor camera got a nice upgrade today as Canon hits CES.

Like it’s big brother, the G7 X Mark II, the G9 X Mark II is now powered by Canon’s DIGIC VII image processor. This enables this palm sized camera to shoot at a blazing 8.2fps. The DIGIC VII is also responsible for the G9 X Mark II’s faster AF tracking and scene recognition.

Canon has also added Dual Sensing Image Stabilization, which uses information from both the lens and the sensor to compensate for 3.5 stops.

The G9 X Mark II is also Canon’s first Powershot camera that comes with Bluetooth for easy pairing with your smartphone or tablet, making transferring photos for sharing on social media easier.

Other G9 X Mark II features include the 1.0-inch, 20.2 megapixel CMOS sensor, built in Wi-Fi and NFC, a 28-84mm F2.0-4.9 lens, a rear 3.0″ touchscreen LCD and full 1080p HD video recording.

The G9 X Mark II will be available some time in February 2017 for an MSRP of $649.99.
