Leica’s New M-P ‘Titanium’ Set is Extra Light, Durable and Pretty

Posted by Broadway Camera on 2016-09-14

Leica’s M-P (Typ 240) ‘Titanium’, Leica’s latest special limited edition camera, is, as the name suggests made of titanium. The top cover plate, base plate, and control dials are made from solid titanium, shaving 90 grams off from the weight of the standard M-P. The grips are made of black cowhide leather. Although it shares all the same technical characteristics as the regular Typ 240, the titanium grey with just a hint of gold color makes an already classic design even more gorgeous.

The camera comes with a set of two lenses: a Leica APO-Summicron-M 50mm f/2 ASPH and a Leica Summicron-M 28mm f/2 ASPH. Both are made from titanium anodized aluminum with matching front and rear caps.

Only 333 sets will be made, each with a unique special edition number. It’s engraved into the hot shoe of the camera, the front retaining ring of the Summicron-M 28mm and on the bayonet ring of the Summicron-M 50mm.

The Leica M-P (Typ 240) ‘Titanium’ Set will be available at the Leica Boutique inside Broadway Camera Richmond starting October 13th.
