The visible elements of the camera are kept exclusively in black and gold. All engravings on the camera and on the lens are designed in gold. For the first time, the name and serial number of the special edition were laser engraved under the glass cover of the camera display. A real specialty is the Leica logo of this special edition: for the first time a black dot with gold lettering adorns a Leica camera, making it unique and unmistakable. The eyelets for the shoulder strap are also gold-colored. The shoulder strap with Leica embossing is made of high-quality, vegetable-dyed nappa calfskin. With a special diamond embossing, this leather is also used for the leather covering of the camera. The camera and accessories are delivered in a specially designed, black hinged lid box with a gold print, which is lined with black silk on the inside.

Both the camera trim and strap are made of Napa calfskin leather that has been gently dyed with plant-based agents. The comfortable carrier strap is hand-stitched and adorned with the embossed Leica logo. Daniel Craig and Greg Williams worked together to conceptualise the design of this special-edition Q2. Their core inspiration was the look of vintage Leica M models whose black paint had become chipped through years of use, only to reveal glimpses of the gold-coloured brass beneath.
